I wonder how easy it is for you to draw youself... I tried it once bu it was just too... personal I think... I couln't upload it.. It seem so easy for you... You do it really ofet, right? I really admire the way you are able to draw such personal stuff! i could never do that!
Amazing and thank you for the translation. This picture touches me on three ways: as an atheist I hate every religious idea, as a kind of alternative (there is a small punk inside me) I just love the way she looks and as an "artist", I love your special style. ... Keep my english mistakes and my esteem.
No comment on the picture, only a comment on your disclaimer there; I'll never understand someone who tries to pseudo-apologize for offending someone. You can't draw something like this and expect it to not offend someone, so either don't draw it, or skip the lame "I didn't want to offend" anyone disclaimer, because in reality, it's hardly sincere and means nothing.
i think she is apologising because she didn't draw this picture with the intent of hurting anyone's feelings. i've often done things not meaning to offend people, but i know that some are very touchy so i apologise for what may be perceived as offensive. (such as cussing or for my opposing opinions, etc.) in addition, maybe she herself doesn't truly believe in the lyrics, but she likes the idea of them? and honestly, i don't find this image offensive. granted, i'm not a religious person. but i interpret the lyrics as saying "god watches over me, but he doesn't make my decisions" kinda deal. which is just someone's analysis of the bible, a book with many interpretations.
I fail to see how this piece is offensive in any way, shape, or form. All she is basically doing is proclaiming that, no, the "lord" is not in fact her "shepherd," and she will take credit for her own achievements instead of giving credit to any "god," and she will own up to her own mistakes, instead of blaming a "devil."
You really didn't get the point of my post did you? My only point was how redundant it is to post something you KNOW will likely offend someone, and then be all LOL SORRY, I didn't mean it! The subject matter is irrelevant; it could be religion, politics, nationalism, etc. It's just the stupid disclaimer that some seem to think is some kind of get out of jail free card.
Actually, you are certainly correct! And the versatility of the cross is amazing because is a simple geometric shape. You are right, it is used for many reasons, and it has many meanings.
BUT, in this drawing, the cross in the necklace is definitely Christian. The vertical line is longer than the horizontal one, resembling the Roman torture device. Ok, the one in the nipple is not that important, but still this drawing is kinda paradoxical.
Really? What makes this cross "Christian?" The cross, even with its bottom end being longer, was used far before christianity was even thought of. Just because christians use it now doesn't make it theirs.
