I went thru this phase, I bought some rather cheapies on ebay, I used them like 3 times, now they have sat on my shelf for years, hella covered in dust..waste of money, I think I spent 30...oh well. >.< love the pose here.
And I'm not just exaggerating... your fursona is realized at the best here within a nice harmonizing of various elements & era styles (I see casual Punk, sweetened Gothic style and even the New Romantic (which later became a branch of New Wave genre) touches of the 80s even down to the roller-skates which were vogue then. This is definitely felt in the rich colour selections of magenta, fair white & slick black. Her hairstyle is sharp yet sweet also.
But what really defines and makes this piece is her outfit ensemble and perky pose; the former with its aforementioned styles is all captured and compacted within a smooth yet firm tank top & cute floral shorts with stuck-out pockets (And are those spike studs on the bottom-side? Excellent!), they help complement her curves reflective of a healthy, active persona. Further athletic slickness is amplified with that pose, not used to the skates but still enjoying every single roll & turn. Even the swirls of the shoelaces add a lot here in terms of dynamism. Cute expression also... Apologies again for gushing too much away but this is your fursona at zenith, powerful while graceful and yearning for adventure. Just Stellar!
I hear you with the packed-as-heck schedule, depression and deadlines for animating project. One can feel painfully stressful even brainstorming a simple sketch. But do not ever give up b/c your productivity can be a still used as powerful drive which can result in such awesome stuff as your works here. Hang in there and hope you get better in all fields soon...
i went to a rocky horror roller derby tonight and oh gosh i wanna buy some skates and start again, we even have a roller rink just for skating and i wanna go, but yes skates are so pricey! love the drawing so much ^^
