just a quick (20 minutes) warm up. I've seen some cool Lion King fanarts and wanted to draw my lioness-self c: 'cause I'm a huge LK fan. like really, really huge. just please don't tell me about this new LK series, lion guard or sth, I'm trying to pretend that this crap doesn't even exist. oh nooo... I started and now I just can't stop. now I need to share my feelings....... alright... let's go....

I mean really? REALLY? Lion Guard?! this show is so wrong! it looks like it was animated by bunch of interns. have you seen the lion's running sequence? does they even made a reserch how animals run? but okay, it's not a full movie, just a tv show, it doesn't have to look best (but it could...). so let's skip to the plot (oh, I'm the best critic here 'cause I watched only the pilot episode, but whatever XD ).

Like alright - we are on savanna, there's a big rock-castle and lions rule the land. seems legit. but MAGIC TATTOOS? :U have you seen this old cartoon Simba, the Lion King? ( v009o.popscreen.com/eG4wYjRyMT… this one, something between Disney's Lion King and Jungle Book) I remember they had some kind of magic tattoos because idk Bimbo was a king of the forest and Simba was king of the word, so you know, you don't work for these titles, you're not chosen by other animals, no no no. you get a magic tattoo from the Great Tattoo-Artist Spirit and then everyone know that fuck, don't mess with this guy 'casue he's got that magic sticker on his chest.

magic tattoos. right. and that whole Lion Guard. wasn't it supposed to be an actual LION guard? tradition or sth? but noooo, once again that  Great Tattoo-Artist Spirit was like "alright, whatever, lion, hippo, what's the difference? here, take this magic tats. great power, great responsibility, hey, badger, can you even roar? well nevermind, we'll figure it out later. oh, do you have some penguins here? a penguin will be a cool Lion Guardian."

and that CHEETAH GIRL. who approved her design? whoever drew her design - does this person even saw a photo of the real cheetah? cheetah... well... they're kind of skinny and run fast. oh, and they have some spots. like whatever spots, who cares that big cats have totally different spots patterns, lets make a cheetah withmaybe ocelot's markings. looks fine. and those totally very-cheetah markings in inner corner of their eyes? well, skip them.  so once again - WHO APPROVED THIS DESING?! D:<

alright. I watched only pilot episode and I felt like it was waste of time and it harmed my pride-land heart. but maybe the rest of episodes was super cool and idk they bring Mufasa back to life so he can teach his grandson some awesome lion kung-fu and tells lot of afterlife wisdoms.

but what really really I would like to see would be a presequel of Lion King. like what childchood of Mufasa and Taka looked like. how Taka become a Scar. you know, that kind of story that will clear up the mystery of Lion King origins. I know that there's lot of cool fan fiction about it, but I'm really curious how creators of LK see this story. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who would like to see something like this. BUT NOOOOO let's give our fans some poorly animated animals with magic tattoos. WELL PLAYED DISNEY.
