art advice by Fukari art advice by Fukari
one of my favourite art advices by Chris Sanders (it's a quote from this post www.chrissandersart.com/2012/0… )
it's really simple but sometimes the simplies things are the hardest to notice.

I made this picture after my friend KoffinKorps told me that she has a problem with drawing something more than portraits and even when she draw portraits they looks so static with a very low emotions inside. so I told her what I've learn from Chris Sanders. we made a little challende - each of us picked one of our OCs and had to draw them "in the morning, preparing themselves to go out".

lot of young, begginer artist ask me about art tips. so I decided to share one of my favourite ones :)

and my own art advice? enjoy drawing. that's all. for me it's the most important thing.

I have heard similar advice from Will Turrell here:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=epMc7Z…
He said pretty much the same thing as you did, and personally I agree.
I mean, I have certainly been guilty of boring drawings before:)

I definatly think this is good advice:)

I've never heard of this before, but I understand it completely coming from another artist such as myself. It's always great to add a little more than a pretty face to look at to draw the audience in; every detail counts.

It's as good as bad advice. Yes the first is just a portait but "just portait" can be a masterpiece to. The other one looks just like a one screenshot from a comics and to tell the truth can't be put on the exhibition- it's just too typical. But when you put good shades and colours and made background to the first you can have a good portait just right to the exhibition. So it depends on what you want to show and how :) Just lil' advice .

By the way- love ya art.

You should think of a random thing you did and try to implement it into the portrait;
Like lets say you read the paper and were shocked by something you read, you could
draw that. I'm sure you could find references if figuring out how to execute the look of the
action is difficult. I need to do that for some positions, it's a great guide if you need it.  :)

This advise is very helpful, thankyou! =D

My favourite example for an image with a story behind it is definitely Roachgut's sketchpage:  roachguts.deviantart.com/art/m… It just really makes you want to know what's going on! Even the little description :).

I've been stuck on drawing the same things over and over (Which is why I don't have that much new art in my gallery nowadays) and I kind of gave up and started only doodling in class because of that. I think this is going to help a lot. ;v;

This is golden. Such an obvious tip I've never thought of. Sometimes this kind of thing comes out naturally, especially when inspired, but sometimes you can't seem to draw this interesting enough or right... in which case this helps a lot.

Thats a great advice. I often have the same problem as KoffinKorps. Part of the problem might be that I still have a lot of trouble drawing emotions. I just promised myself to practice stuff like that more. Maybee trying some memes for fun is a good idea.

So thanks a lot for sharing this great advice.

I agree SO MUCH with the quote ! Will Ferell said something similar in one of his youtube videos and it seems really important to me. Sometimes, I drew something without meaning and I find it boring. I think that's something that a lot of (young (it's not that I'm an old one)) artists don't think of. They're more about doing something beautiful than something with meaning. But one is more interesting of the other.

Important and nice advice !
